N. Lehigh approves CBA between district and educational support personnel association

Northern Lehigh School Board has approved a collective bargaining agreement between the school district and the Northern Lehigh Educational Support Personnel Association.

The Educational Support Staff agreement that was passed last week by a 7-0 vote is effective July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2024, with an average increase of 2.98%, said Sherri Molitoris, co-director of business affairs/human resources.

Molitoris said the board also added language that the district is authorized to hire a maintenance employee with specialized skills more than the current maintenance personnel maximum hourly rate, and added the district has advertised and will hire an HVAC person to fill this position.

Additionally, Molitoris said the starting salary for cafeteria personnel has increased to $13.50 per hour, and will increase every July 1 by 25 cents each for the duration of the contract.

In other matters, the board:

• Approved an amendment to the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, as recommended by the School Board Negotiations Committee, between the district and the Northern Lehigh Educational Association, with corrected dates, effective Aug. 1, 2021, through July 31, 2023.

• Extended the contracts until Dec. 31, with no changes between the district and the co-director of business affairs/human resources and co-director of business affairs/payroll & employee benefits.

• Approved the recommendation from administration that graduation be set for 7 p.m. June 11 in Bulldog Community Stadium, with a rain date of 10:30 a.m. June 12.

• Approved the implementation of HomeTown Ticketing to provide paperless ticket purchasing of school district sponsored events.
